Tools for Our Students' Success

Tools for our Student's Success will provide first-generation college students* matriculating to a two (2) or four (4) year college/university with a trunk including essential tools needed for success.  Items  will include, but not be limited to, a Laptop/tablet loaded with Microsoft applications, a stipend towards books, comfort items, etc.

Applicants must be 1st Generation college students*; enrolled in a high school within Cuyahoga County, OH;  graduating in the 2024 graduating class; and attending a 2 or 4 college/university in Fall 2024. Applicants will be evaluated on the basis of grade point average, leadership potential, social involvement, and a personal interview. Applications must be submitted online.

The application closed at 11:59 pm on April 30, 2024.

Applications will be reviewed in May and interviews will be scheduled for May and June. Students will be made aware if they are a recipient in June.  The trunks will be given to students at a brunch on July 20, 2024 at the Cleveland Public Library, MLK Jr. Branch, 1962 Stokes Blvd., Cleveland, Ohio 44106 at 11:00 am - 1:00 pm.

* "First-Generation College Student" means that your Parent(s)/Legal Guardian did not complete a 4-year college or university degree.
